For my card today, I chose to use a lot of scraps that I had lying around. After Christmas I had gone to Michaels and purchased these beautiful sprags for 49 cents. Everything for this card was purchased for less than $5.00 and it made enough for 3! I probably have enough scraps left over for a smaller card.
The sketch is from Mojo Monday's and is an older sketch #199.
The card base was 5" x 7" and cut from a dark blue gray cardstock from Recollections. The mat is also from Recollections and measures 4 3/4" x 6 3/4". This was a scrap I had lying around for quite a while and it was a large piece that needed to be used. I used my Versa Mark and Inkadinkadoo's Snowflakes A Plenty stamp set and heat embossed with Recollections Glitz Embossing Powder. This gave the snowflakes a slight glimmer. The frame is from the cricut Cartridge Lacy Labels and is the Beautiful cut. It was cut at 4" from White cardstock.
The snowman image is from the Close to My Heart Frosty Friends stamp set and was stamped using Memento tuxedo ink and colored with my Prisma Colored pencil crayons. After I colored the image, I sprayed it with my own homemade Glimmer mist using Deco Art Metallic Blue paint and Pearl Effects copper powder.
The sentiment on the inside of the card is also by Close to My Heart and is from the Festive Thoughts stamp set.
The strip at the bottom measures 1 1/2" x 6 3/4" and was punched and adhered to the mat. I then took some blue shimmer ribbon by Celebrate It and adhered it to the strip on the mat. I then added bits and pieces of the sprags, and added some lace ribbon and on 1 card, some bling that I got at the dollar bin at Michaels. As I said, 3 cards for $5.00!!!
