Scraps Card #30 Rain Rain Go Away...

Finally, I get a little inspiration from the rain.  I actually like the rain, the sound and the smell after a beautiful rainfall is so fresh and new.  Plus, the flowers and green grass are a sure sign that Summer is coming!

I am getting close to the end of the Scraps Card Series with only 1 card left.  Very hard to believe but it got rid of a lot of my scraps.  I guess I'm a scrap-horder!  My new card series will begin next week with a Masculine card theme.  I am planning on making 10 masculine adult cards and 10 male children's cards.

My card base measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and was cut from White Cardstock.  The blue mat was from my scraps and was cut at 5 1/4" x 4".  The blue & white argyle mat was also from my scrap stash and measures 5" x 3 3/4".  I also cut a strip of brown measuring 5" x 1".

For this card I used the following Cricut Cartridges:  Paper Doll Dress Up, Everyday Paper Dolls and Create a Critter.  I used scraps for all of my cuts.  

The fence was cut from white cardstock from Paper Doll Dress Up at 1 1/2".  This is found on p. 78 of the manual.  The raindrops were cut at 2 1/2" from the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.  The cut is found on p. 42.

The umbrella, duck, rain cloud, pond and boots were all cut from the Create a Critter cartridge.  Most of these cuts are found on p. 31 and the cloud and pond are found on page 52.  The cloud was cut at 1 1/2" from grey, and the pond (water) was cut at 1" and 1/2" from blue cardstock.  

The duck & boots were cut at 2 3/4" and the Umbrella was cut at 2".  

I used my Cuttlebug: Divine Swirls embossing folder on the clouds and chalked around the edges of the cloud and all cuts.  I also added Glossy Accents to the raindrops and the water.

Both sentiments were printed from my computer.

Scraps Card #29 You're the Best (Administrative Assistant Card)

Happy Administrative Assistants!  I so "adore" and appreciate our admin. assistant and as a music teacher, she does so much for me and others at our school.
So for my next scrap card I knew I needed to make something just for her!!!!
I got my inspiration from the Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge.  If you do not have this cartridge, it is an absolute must!  Something for everybody and the images are so cute! I loved the apple and worm cuts and decided to put them together in this cute combo.
The card base measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and was cut from Red cardstock by Recollections.  The mat is from my scraps and was cut at 5 1/4" x 4.  One of the papers is from my Christmas stash, the other was a left over piece from the Green Faux Canvas by Recollections.  I cut a strip from my scrap stash measuring 5 1/4" x 1 1/2" and then another black strip measuring 5 1/4" x 1 3/4".
The apple is found on p. 25 of the manual and was cut at 3" using the apple, layer 1, 2, and 3 all on shift, all from scraps.
The worm is found on p. 65 and is found using the shift function.  I cut it at 2 1/4" using worm, layer 1 and 2 all on shift and using my scraps.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts Clear Stamp set called Everyday Sayings and was stamped using Memento Tuxedo black ink.
I used a small flower punch that I got at the Dollar Store and added some bling and Stickles to it.  I used foam tape on the worm and a homemade action wobble on the apple.
Too cute!!!

Scraps Card #28 Flower Mother's Day Card

Although it's a few weeks away, I wanted to start making some Mother's Day Cards for my stash!  It's hard to believe that Spring is here as it has been snowing and raining in parts of New Brunswick.  We have got so much rain and my son wants to go play in the puddles.
For my newest card I wanted to use one of my new Cricut Cartridge.  Last week I purchased 4 new cartridges, Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2, Three Birds on Parade, Robots and Elegant Edges. I couldn't wait to get home and craft with them but we have been battling the flu in this house so I hadn't had a chance to "test" them out until tonight!
The card base measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and was cut from a deep purple cardstock by Recollections.  From my stash, I used some left over Green Faux Canvas by Recollections that was featured on the St. Patrick's Day card.  This green mat measures 5 1/4" x 4". The patterned paper is also from my stash and I know it's by K & Company.  I love the little elements of glitter in it and it is such a cut "Spring" paper.  This mat measures 5" x 3 3/4".
Using the Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge, I cut from p. 70 the Oblong and Shadow shift at 4" using the dark purple and also the rest of the patterned paper.  I also cut a white oblong for the inside sentiment.
The flower and pot comes from the Every Day Pop Up Cards Cricut cartridge and is found on p. 23 of the manual.  I cut this using Flower, flower shift and Layer 1 at 3 1/4".  On one flower I added some stickles and a bling, the other flower I used a left over purple paper flower that I got from the Dollar bin at Michaels.  I also added a small bling to this.
The sentiment comes from my Hero Art set and was stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Scraps Card #27 A Very Merry Christmas

The countdown is on.  Only 4 more cards in the Scraps Card Series.  Needless to say, it has eliminated a good chunk of my stash (not all of it of course).
For this card, I wanted to use some of my seasonal paper.  I don't have as much scraps of Seasonal Christmas paper but wanted to get rid of some of the little scraps I did.  Everything for this card was made from my scraps.
The inspiration comes from Sunday Sketch and Stamp's current challenge.  I had enough of this little scraps to make this design.  The card base measures 4 1/2" x 6".  The mat is 4 1/4" x 5 3/4" and is from The Paper Company and is called Starburst Translucent Red.  I had just enough for this and the frame. The squares each measure 2" x 2 3/4" and are from my Christmas Scrap stash.   The circle was cut using the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge and was cut at 2 1/4" and the red circle mat cut at 2 1/2".
The stamped image is from Inkadinkadoo and is called Christmas Characters.  I used this set for the image and the sentiment on the outside.  The inside sentiment is by Close to my Heart and is called Festive Thoughts. The image was colored using my Prisma colored pencils.
I also added some red bling and stickles to the hat and snowflakes.

Scraps Card #26 Baby Boy Card

Wow, I am down to my last 5 cards in the Scraps Card series.  Since a few of my friends are having boys or just had a boy, I needed to restock my stash.  My hubby and I found out yesterday that our little September bundle is a girl!  We are super excited. That takes our total to 1 boy and 2 girls.  Will be O.K until they all need the bathroom at the same time.
All materials for this card came from my stash, except the card base. The card base is from Recollections Cape Cod cardstock and measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". The yellow mat measures 5 1/4" x 4".  The patterned paper mat is from a very old stash of baby 12 x 12 paper that I had and measures 5" x 3 3/4".
All cuts are from the Create a Critter cartridge and can be found on p. 71 of the manual.  For the moon, I cut it, layer 1, 2 and 3 at 2".  The stars I cut at 1" and also at 1 1/2".  The sheep was cut at 3" using Lamb, layer 1, 2 and the accessory.  All were cut at 3".  To give it depth, I chalked around all edges and also ran the clouds and Lamb's wool through my Cuttlebug using my Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder.  I love this whimsical swirl and use it often for clouds or wool. I added dimensionals to the sheep.  For the stars, I also added some yellow Stickles.  Don't you love Stickles!!!!!
The sentiments where pieces of old sticky vellum that I had in my stash.

Scraps Card #25 Sending You Warm Fuzzies

What a beautiful day.  22 degrees and loving this April weather week.  It is supposed to be nice all week with rain at the end of the week.  Oh well, you can't win them all.  I finally had a few moments tonight to make another scraps card. Only 6 more to go in this series.  And now time for another Series announcement.  My next personal challenge is a Masculine Series.  I have challenged myself to make 10 masculine adult cards and 10 boy cards. Wish me luck!
For this card, I used Create a Critter and also Everyday Pop Up Cards.  I have had this cartridge since before Christmas and FINALLY used it.  Sad on my part. I really liked how the lion from CAC and the Circus wagon from EPUC worked together. Also got a little inspiration from the Madagascar film.
The card base was cut from Orange cardstock from Recollections cut at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  The card mat was cut from a scrap of brown cardstock also by Recollections and measures 5 1/4" x 4".  The patterned paper scrap mat is from a baby mini I made years ago and measures 5" x 3 3/4".
Using the Everyday Pop Up Cards, I used the Circus cut found on p. 66 of the manual.  For this, I cut Circus from turquoise, Circus shift from Burnt Orange, layer 1 from a light brown, layer 1 shift from ecru and layer 2 from a dark brown.  This was all cut at 3 1/4" using my scraps.
The lion is from Create a Critter and is found on p. 57.  I cut him at 1 1/2" also using my scraps and Lion, Layer 1, 2 and Shadow function.
I added dimensionals behind the Circus wagon so it would look like you were peeking inside the cage and the lion was behind it far back.
The sentiment on the outside is from Hero Art Clear Stamp Set.  The inside sentiment is from a Retired Stampin' Up set called Birthday Greetings.
I also added some mini buttons I got at Walmart in a huge bag for $3.00.
