Cut It Up #9: Out With the Old!

Happy Friday and I hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas with your family and friends.  It's time for another challenge at Cut It Up.  This time the challenge is "Out With The Old."  You are to create a project that reuses something from the house that you typically would not use in your papercrafting. (ie. A pendant from an old necklace, the acetate backing from a sticker sheet, fabric from some old clothing, etc) and remember to use a die cut. The prize for this weeks challenge is sponsored by Cut It Up.

A few weeks ago my wonderful staff hosted a baby shower for my daughter and me.  I went through my gift bag "hoarding" collection the other night and cut off all of the ribbon and even cut some of the bags to use as a background mat for paper.
For this project I used some of the many different ribbons that I collected and also some of the background mats (hard to see on this project)
Here is the finished project...

Materials Used:
*A2 Size card (long)
*ribbon and gift bag for mat
*Patterned paper by Ki Memories Enchanted Paper Stack
*Baby Steps Cricut Cartridge by Provocraft  cut at 3 1/4"
*Peachy Keen #650 Just Baby Faces Assortment 5/8"
*Strip of patterned paper (3 3/4" x 1 1/2")
*Yellow Glitter Glue by Studio G
*Stampin' Up for Sentiments

Heavenly Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to the Heavenly Christmas Blog Hop.  This is a chance to see some wonderful Christmas projects.  The theme for this hop was something Christmas related and I'm sure you will get some amazing ideas from these wonderfully talented ladies for some last minute Christmas Gifts.  If you have not started at the beginning, make sure to do so because you don't want to miss a minute of this "heavenly" blog hop!
So put your angel wings aside for a minute, sit down and put your feet up and enjoy all this hop has to offer!

For my project, I chose to do different Holiday Chargers.  I bought these plates at Michaels for $1.25 each! Can you believe it.  All I had to do was purchase the vinyl. I created all of these for under $20!!!!

All of these were created with A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge except the shepherd boy who was created with A Quilted Christmas Cartridge.

I Love Snow Blog Hop

Welcome to the Snow Blog Hop. I want to Thank Lisa for letting me be a participant on this wonderful hop. It comes at a great time.  Personally, I am starting to enjoy snow again.  I think when you outgrow snow pants, the excitement of snow wears off.  I like snow on Christmas Eve and that used to be about it.  Now with the fun that my little ones have, we are "snow people."

I chose to make a glass block project with a very popular "snow" activity.  My kids LOVE building snowman and it is always a contest to see who can make their snowman look the chubbiest!

Here is the blog line-up in case you get lost...Be sure to check out all participants projects.  They are beautiful and you may get some last minute gift ideas!
