My first Mini Album!

Hi everyone.  I wanted to share a great big milestone for the average crafter in me.  I finally made my first mini album and I can honestly say I am now addicted to them!
I got the idea for this from a Facebook group called Play Along.  This is a great group full of wonderful ideas and you just sign up for what you'd like to participate in.  Many challenges don't have a time limit, some do, and there are usually tutorials for that challenge.
Ginger from My Sisters Scrapper led the group in a 5 video tutorial.  Ginger is an excellent teacher and I found the video's to be perfect to follow with lots of great ideas.
So here is my first mini album.  I chose to do a Halloween Mini (1st mini, I wanted to choose a very basic and easy theme).
Thanks for watching and if you're not part of the Facebook Play Along group, do so!

Cut Up Up Challenges #13: Pinterest Inspired

Happy Friday everyone!  Today we have an awesome challenge over at Cut It Up Challenges. Today's challenge is called Pinterest Inspired. I am sure most of you are a "Pinner!"  If not I will give you a warning. This site is OVERLOAD addiction.  So many amazing ideas and a great way to keep them all safe instead of using bookmarks. For today's challenge you are to create a paper project that was inspired by something you saw on Pinterest.  Don't have Pinterest? Don't worry you can still play, just use inspiration from a fellow crafter or someone you follow in blogging world.  It is very important though, please give credit to the original source in your blog post by providing a link to their project.  Remember to use a die cut somewhere in your project.
For my inspiration, I chose to give my own take on a wonderful Patriotic card from a fellow Canadian Crafter.  I have been a long time follower of her and saw this on Pinterest and knew immediately that I wanted to do it.  Her name is Cindy and you can find her wonderful blog here.
Here is her original creation found here, and this is what Cindy created.

This is my take on her wonderful design. I used Create a Critter, Go Canada and Doodlecharms cartridges.

Isn't that just sweet!
This challenge starts today, February 22nd and ends March 6th.

Materials Used:
*A2 size
*cardstock by Recollections
*Patterned paper Blue Christmas by Recollections

Polar Bear Challenge-Die Cuttin' Divas #103

Happy Tuesday everyone.  It's another fantastic challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas. It could give you a great start to your Christmas Cards for 2013!
Our guest Diva this week is Katie

Challenge: Use a Polar Bear

For my project, I chose to make a Christmas Card (my first for this year) using A Quilted Christmas.  I wanted the sentiment to be a huge part of this card so I didn't put one on the front.

I added some sparkle to the card using bling, on the polar bear itself and used Glitter Glue on the patterned paper.
Now isn't that a "sparkling" little ticket....For more beautiful Polar Bear inspired projects, please check out my fellow DT sisters over at Die Cuttin' Divas.

This weeks theme is All That Glitters so go ahead and "glitter"ize your project.  We have a wonderful sponsor this week, Stamp Fairy.

The sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches #184.
The sentiment is perfect for missing that special someone!

Be sure to visit Craft Your Passion to see other projects by the fabulous Design Team and be sure to head over to Stamp Fairy to see some adorable images like Molly Fairy!

Cut It Up#12 Animation Domination

Good morning.  Welcome to another challenge at Cut It Up!  This week, the theme is Animation Domination.  You are to create a project that showcases an animated character (ie: Hello Kitty, Batman, Winnie the Pooh, etc). If you do not have a Cricut cartridge or SVG's that have any of these type of characters, there are tons of free coloring book pages online that can be resized and used as a digi image.  And remember you must use a die cut.  This is our amazing prize for this challenge sponsored by Cut It Up!

A few weeks ago, I purchased the Best of Pixar Cricut Cartridge.  What adorable images this cartridge has.  My kids LOVE Pixar, and especially LOVE the movie Finding Nemo. For this challenge, I wanted to make a Dory birthday card.  We all love Dory (it is so hard not to).  I love how she can never remember Nemo's name so I wanted to focus this card around that.  Here is what I came up with.

Isn't she adorable!!!!
Materials Used:
*A2 Size card
*Cardstock by Recollections
*Best of Pixar Cricut Cartridge by Provocraft (p. 24) Dory cut at 3 1/2"
*Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge by Provocraft (p. 43) Seaweed cut at 2 1/2"
