Masculine Card Series #10: Alien Card

It's been a rainy past few days in New Brunswick and I have had zip for energy.  Finally got a wee bit to make this card tonight as I forgot to do it last night.  Call it teaching and getting ready for the June rush!
I have had this sheet of patterned paper for years and while flipping through the manual for Boys will Be Boys, I saw the alien and UFO image and thought it would go perfect together.  The patterned paper reminded me of little stars!
The card base is an A2 size card.  The dark blue mat is 5 1/4" x 4", the white mat is 5" x 3 3/4", and the patterned paper mat measures 4 3/4" x 3 1/2".  The grey strip at the bottom measures 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" and was embossed using the Seeing Spots Cuttlebug folder.  I also ripped it at the top.  I loved the way it made it look like craters on the moon...
The UFO is found on p. 69 of the Boys Will Be Boys Cricut Cartridge and was cut at 2".  The alien was cut at 3" and can be found on p. 70. I also used dimensionals on him and googly eyes instead of the eyes from the Cricut cut. All cuts are from my scraps!  A great way to get rid of even the smallest pieces (I keep everything!)
The inside sentiment is from Stampin' Up.
I entered this card in the following challenges:

Masculine Card Series #9: Bird BBQ

Sorry this was a late post.  It was such a crazy busy day that I didn't have time to post this last night or even today.  My husband's Grandmother celebrated her 85th birthday yesterday and all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grand children were there.  What a fun time and my children had a great time meeting their cousins for the first time!
For today's card, I decided to make a Father's Day card as Father's Day will be here before you know it.  We usually have a relaxing day where my husband and his Father go golfing and then we have a family BBQ.  So this card could be used for a BBQ invite, Father's Day, Birthday or just a simple male Thank You.
The cartridges I used were 3 Birds on Parade and for the Father's Day Sentiment, I used the Wild Card Cartridge.
The card base measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and was cut from blue teal cardstock by Recollections.  The red mat measures 5 1/4' x 4" and the patterned paper mat measures 5" x 3 3/4" and is by Recollections Bold Basics paper stack.
The bird and BBQ can be found on p. 55 of the manual.  I cut him, the layers and BBQ at 3 1/2" and used dimensionals on the bird.
The You're Tweet sentiment is also from 3 Birds and can be found on p. 28 and was cut at 1 1/2".
The Father's Day sentiment was found on the Wild Card Cartridge p. 66 and was cut from red cardstock at 5 1/2".
I decorated the inside of the card two ways.  The card that said "You're Tweet" has the Happy Father's Day sentiment on the inside, while the other card I cut an extra bird on blackout and left it blank inside.
I entered this card in the following challenges:

Graduation Card

It's been a long time since I've taught Middle and High School but a former voice student of mine is graduating this year and I wanted to make a card for the occasion...
For my Grad card, I used the Wild Card Cartridge and the 3 Birds on Parade Cartridge.
Using the Wild Card cartridge, I cut the envelope, hat and liners at 7 1/2".  I cut 2 scrolls (icon) at 2 1/4". The images can be found on p. 73 of the manual.
From the 3 Birds on Parade, I cut the Graduate bird found on p. 47 at 3".  I cut the grad, grad shift, layer 1 and layer 1 shift and shadow.  I cut the shadow again from yellow cardstock for the inside sentiment. The bird was layered and I added red Stickles to the cap tassel.  I also used dimensionals on it.
The sentiment on the cap was stamped using Snow White Embossing Powder by Recollections and is from my Hero Arts sentiments set.
The inside sentiment is stamped using a Stampin' Up set called Occasional Quotes and was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
The sentiment mat measures 4 x 2 1/2" and the blue mat is 3 3/4" x 2 1/4".  I added the 2 scrolls to this and added some red Stickles to replace the ribbon!

Toy Story Birthday Invite

My son's wanted to have a Toy Story theme for his 3rd birthday.  I had just got my first Cricut for Christmas and didn't even know that the there was a Pixar cartridge!  We had nothing at our local Walmart or Toy's R Us so I improvised.
I had received the Wild Card cartridge for Christmas and I must say, I love that cartridge.  Some of the Wild Cards cards we used were Stitched, Tweety, circle and I can't remember the names of the others (sorry)!
For the cards, my son and I made them together using the Wild Card Cartridge and Toy Story tattoos that we got at our local Dollar Store.  So I wanted to show you a few pictures of our finished products!  These were the first cards I ever made and I never posted it until tonight!
I entered them in the Getting Cricky Pixar Blog Challenge

Simple Wedding Card

I made this card for the upcoming Wedding Season stash.  I admit, I don't really make a lot of wedding cards but do go to a few weddings here or there.  I used to buy them, but my goal this year is to make them all.
For this card, I used the Cricut Sweethearts cartridge for the bells.
The card base measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and was cut using black cardstock by Recollections.
The ivory mat measures 5 1/4" x 4" and was also put through my Cuttlebug using the Seeing Spots embossing folder.  The bell mat measures 4 1/4" x 3 3/4" cut from black cardstock and the patterned paper mat measures 4" x 3 1/2" from Recollections patterned paper.
The bells are found on p. 56 of the manual and were cut at 3".  I used the shadow feature (black) layer feature cut one from ivory patterned paper and again for the lilac or gold bow.  I added stickles to the lilac bow and the gold bow was already shimmery.  I used dimensionals as well.
The inside mat measures the same as the bell mat and the stamp is from Stampin' Up's Occasional Quotes set.

Masculine Card Series #8 U R "Dino"mite!

Welcome to my next card of the Masculine Card Series.  It's hard to believe that we are on week 4 of 10! Since this is a Thursday, this card is for a boy however you could also use it for an adult.
This card is an easel card and all cuts are from the Create a Critter Cartridge.  I LOVE this cartridge and it is my go-to cartridge majority of the time.
The card base is cut at 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 2 3/4" and again at 5 1/2".  I then cut an extra piece of purple cardstock measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
The orange mat measures 4" x 5 1/4" and the patterned paper mat measures 5" x 3 3/4".  The patterned paper is from Deja Views and is called Greeen Tonal.
The T-Rex is cut at 4" and can be found on p. 51 of the manual.  The tree is also on this page and was cut at 3".  The phrase at 1 1/2".  The volcano is found on p. 50 and was cut at 1".  I also added some red stickles to give it that "lava hot" look.  I added a U and R sticker from my stash.
The sentiment mat measures 4" x 2 1/4" and 3 3/4" x 2".
I used an action wobble on the T-Rex.
I entered this in the following challenges:

Wild Card Series # 31 Present Card

Welcome to number 31 out of 50 cards.  I am getting there. The good thing about this cartridge is the cards take less than no time at all to make.  The hard part is deciding what you want to use as there are so many options.  This card can be found on p. 62 of the manual.
The card and all accessories were cut at 7 1/2". The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye Kaleidoscope collection.  The large spotted flowers is called Sister's Flower Melon Paper and the small flowers is called Summer Flower Green Paper.
The sentiment on the tag is by Hampton Art and was stamped with Memento Ink.  I added a small brad to it as well.

Wild Card Series #30 Cupcake Card

I love this card and have used it on many occasions.  Both took me less than 15 minutes to do. The card can be found on p. 61 of the manual.
The card base and all accessories were cut at 5".  The patterned paper for both is by KI and is from the Enchanting Paper Pad.  For the icing, I ran it through my Cuttlebug: Divine Swirls folder.  I love how it gives it that cut icing look. I also used some pop up dots and added some stickles.
The candle was cut twice, once in blue and the other in yellow.  I added stickles to the yellow.
The phrase was cut from pink cardstock.

Wild Card Series #29 Wow! Card

I actually did this card twice because the first time I forgot the exclamation point and I also was not happy with the outcome.  I will post the pictures for both though. This card can be found on p. 60 of the manual.
I cut this card at 3 3/4" from patterned paper from My Mind's Eye, the Complete Boy paper stack.  The blue card base used patterned paper by K & Company but I found it blended too much.
I liked the way the Complete Boy paper really stood out.  I cut the card envelope and phrase from yellow cardstock.

Wild Card Series #28 Star Card

This was a very quick and simple little card.  Perfect for a graduation, sports star or dance star!
The card and all accessories were cut at 5 1/2".  It can be found on p. 59 of the manual.  I used the envelope and card base, phrase and liners.  The liners were cut from my scraps.

Masculine Card Series #7 Whale Card

This card was a very simple and quick design.  I made 6 of them in less than an hour. I used all of my scraps for the blue mat and the whale!
The card base measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and was cut from grey cardstock.  The mat measures 5 1/4" x 4" and was cut from a blue piece of scrap cardstock.  The patterned paper cardstock measures 5" x 3 3/4" and is called Dark Den Circles by Chatterbox.  I added some blue scrap ribbon to the border.
The whale is from the the Create a Critter Cartridge and is found on p. 41 of the manual.  I cut him at 3" with various shades of blue and added Glossy Accents to his water spout.
The sentiment is from Doodlebug Designs and the inside sentiment is from Stampin' Up, the stamped whale is from Studio G.

Wild Card Series #27 Hello Card

Isn't this such a cute cartridge.  Something for everybody.  And I am just scratching the basics....
I really love this card.  I LOVE to talk, so this is my kind of card!
The card and all accessories were cut at 5" and can be found on p. 58 of the manual.

Wild Card Series # 26 Branch Card

For my latest Wild Card Series card I used some scraps that I had left over from my Mother's Day Cards that I made this year.  This card is found on p. 57 of the manual and was cut at 7".  I cut the liners, phrase shift, and icon.
