I love celebrating my Irish heritage. I love the songs, the stories, poetry, and of course the beautiful history and picturesque but magical place it is. This week, there was so many challenges on Saint Patrick's Day cards so it was hard not to be part of it!
I got my inspiration from the sketch this week at the Cards for Men Challenges.
Here's what I came up with. My card base is 5" x 6 1/2" from white cardstock. The dark green mat was cut at 4 3/4" x 6 1/4". The green patterned paper mat measures 4 1/2" x 6" and is called Green Faux Canvas by Recollections. The shamrock patterned paper mat is also by Recollections and was cut at 5 1/8" x 2".
The sentiment is the Irish Blessing poem by Audrey Jeanne Roberts and I printed it out from my computer. The white sentiment mat is 3 1/4" x 5" and I used the same dark green paper as before for a back mat measuring 3 1/2" x 5 1/4".
The shamrocks were cut using Cricut Craft Room and was cut using three hearts from the Craft Room Exclusive, and welded together. For the shamrock stem, I used a "J" from the Craft Room Exclusive and elongated slightly to what I wanted. The green that I used for them comes from Recollections and is a sheet of .99 cent cardstock that looked like a metallic bronzed green. Hard to see by very shimmery and perfect for this card.
I added 3 pearl bling to give it a final look.
I entered this card in the following challenges:
